Distributor Program

Eligibility

  • Capacity to import (and store) bulk volumes (see MOQ below)
  • Know-how and ability to manage customs clearance.
  • Cost effective and reliable freight forwarders / partners.

We are able to assist with freight bookings (incoterm: CFR)- which we can rebill you at no extra cost. However you will still need your clearing agent at your port to handle customs clearance.

Pricing

As a broad guideline:
Retailers enjoy 40~50% margin (earnings / retail price)
Distributors enjoy 20~30% margin (earnings / sales price to retailers)

MOQ / Minimum Orders

Per Shipment: Minimum 20 boxes (approximately US$5K+ in value). This is primarily driven by the cost of freight. Smaller quantities are acceptable but the unit cost of shipping ( total shipping cost divided by the number of items) rises.

The base unit of orders are in BOXES.

Each box has fixed quantities:

  • 40 x 100ml
  • 20 x 300ml
  • 20 x 500ml
  • 40 x 200ml
  • 40 x jazz-9
  • 30 x jazz-18
  • 12 x jazz-54
  • 30 x start-45
  • 40 x sky 70
  • 30 x sky 150
  • 10 x sky 800
  • 6 x feast 2000
  • 3 x feast 5000

Each pallet (1mx1.2m) can hold ~60 boxes (max 70 boxes).

Shipping & Customs

We supply on an ex-works basis from Singapore. We generally provide free products of equivalent retail value to offset freight costs. The mix is discretionary, though your preference is taken into account.
Important:
Distributors have the know-how to clear their local customs. Our products are accompanied by their respective MSDS. In Europe, we are CE compliant.

Sales Platform

APT products are not to be sold on 3rd party platforms- Amazon, eBay, Shopee etc. Approval may be given on a case-by-case basis. IMPORTANT: please reach out to us before you list on 3rd party platforms.

Strategic Accounts

We reserve the right to supply directly to selected Strategic Accounts via our Dealer Direct program. These are retailers where, due to their deep focus on planted tanks (and/or social media influence) we have a collaborative relationship beyond supply. We regularly share new plants, scapes, techniques / marketing. And through them we 'get an ear on the ground' in terms of hobby trends / feedback / preferences. They tend to be closely linked to the planted community. Our joint marketing helps boost APT sales for other retailers.

Exclusivity and Contracts

Consumer protection laws generally prohibit exclusive contracts. Our philosophy is to 'Grow Together' and we respect the investment and trust that our partners and customers have placed in us.
